It is with very deep sadness that I am letting you know that Steve died peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday 25th June with his family by his side.
Steve's family have asked me to thank you all very, very much for bringing Steve friendship, many good times, interesting challenges and much shared creativity over the past years.
Steve was our Treasurer for several years and was the driving force behind transforming the SPA into a Charity. Despite ongoing ill-health, he worked tirelessly to ensure that our finances remained on track and that we complied with all the legal requirements of being a charity.
Steve was one of life's true gentlemen and he will be sorely missed by me and all his fellow committee members who will always remember and appreciate him for his dedication, friendship, loyalty, wit and support over many years and I have no doubt that he will also be greatly missed by many, many of our members.

A small private funeral will be held just outside Aberdeen on Wednesday 1 July. To any who knew Steve and would like to mark his passing then please raise a glass to him and, if you wish, make a small donation to Friends of ANCHOR using our JustGiving page. If you are considering sending flowers then these are welcome but we would much appreciate it if you would consider a donation instead.
Steve received wonderful care from the NHS community doctors and nurses, the specialist cancer teams at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and the palliative care team at Roxburghe House. We would like to help future cancer patients by raising funds for ANCHOR who support cancer patients and cancer research in the North East.
