Some notes on the venue to help you decide if this will work for you. Please contact bookings@scottishpotters.org if you have any further questions, or if you would like to book one of the accessible single rooms.
- The venue has a number of separate buildings with short walks between them.
- We have planned all our activities to use ground level facilities.
- Janene's demonstration, lectures, coffees and Ann Lightwood Award are all in one modern building with ramped access. This building has a full range of toilets. It is close to the dining hall (which is in the same building as some of the bedrooms).
- Michelle's demonstration is in the older building which also has an access ramp. There is an accessible toilet nearby. There are basic drinks facilities if you do not want to walk to the main teaching block.
- Elaine's demonstration, traders, and member's work will all take place in lab spaces. These have stepped access (a few stairs or a high doorstep). Seating is on high chairs (like bar stools with a back rest) that may not suit everybody. We will add some normal chairs as well but space is limited. There is a short walk to facilities in the main teaching block. The lab has high work benches which can be used for a hands-on activity.
- Bedrooms are divided over two buildings, with two floors in each building. Please ask for a downstairs room if you need it.
- All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom. The shower in these is a fairly small cubicle with a tall step into it. There are two single bedrooms with a large accessible bathroom, with a walk-in shower and grips etc. around the toilet.
- The dining hall is fairly small and depending on numbers we may have to eat in two sittings.
- The dining hall has standard tables and chairs.
- They cater for all standard allergies and diets. Make sure to let us know when registering so that we can let the venue know in good time.
- The venue is nut free. Please do not use any nuts (or nut products) in your baking and don't bring nut-based snacks. This includes peanut butter, tahini, almond flour or nut milks.
