Based in Aberdeenshire, I'm a Scottish artist who makes hand-built and thrown pieces, often quirky and full of colour & detail. I Iove playing with clay!
My love affair with mud, fire & water started with a pottery class in 2004 and my clay journey still continues with me recently being cast in The Great Pottery Throw Down, Season 4.
Pottery is a mixture of art, science and a little bit of magic. With clay, the only limit is your imagination and working out the technical aspect of how to create something and it doesn't matter how experienced a potter you are, it's in the kiln where the real magic happens. Unexpected firing results can surprise you - sometimes bad and sometimes wonderful. Once the door closes, and the firing begins, it's in the hands of the kiln gods . .
