I work at The Meadows Pottery in Edinburgh (which I established in 1988) alongside my partner, the potter Junko Shibe. All my work is electric fired and handthrown on the wheel. I mainly work in stoneware but I do make some porcelain simply glazed in our watery green oxidised celadon. Everything I make is individually thrown (we do not production throw at TMP) whether it be domestic ware pottery or more obviously one off pieces. Among the multiple strands of my work are chun glaze based crystal glazed pieces, earthy, dynamically slip decorated pots with a touch of gold lustre, dolls house pieces, rustic Japanese tea bowls and sake sets.
