Graduate of Grays School of Art and now retired art teacher and Education Development Officer. Exhibited in the first SPA exhibition in Aberdeen Art Gallery in 1976 as a student member.
Now working from a purpose built studio in my garden.
My work has evolved over the years becoming more sculptural and expressive. I use combinations of throwing, coiling and slabbing to create pieces based on the landscape and culture of the north of Scotland. Emphasis placed on complimenting form and surface decoration.
Ideas normally start with drawn and/or colour studies which sometimes develop into paintings. Sometimes initial ideas get left behind as the clay forms take on a life of their own.
Happy to have visitors to my studio by appointment.
