I've been creating 'in glaze reduction lustreware' ceramics for the domestic and decorative market full time for 25 years. My pieces were originally inspired by the reflective colour and movement found in water, but over the last 20 years other influences have crept in. In glaze reduction lustre is like oil on water or a peacocks feather and when you are making in glaze lustre you are said to be chasing the rainbow by trying to capture all the colours in your glazes. Watergaw is ancient Scot for a partial or incomplete rainbow and that's why my business is Watergaw Ceramics
