I am a sculptor who works in many materials but over the past five years have specialised in wood and clay. My ideas are derived from forms such as buildings, boats, reliquaries and the natural world. I enjoy detail and texture and many of my pieces have hidden stories within the surface decoration which are open to interpretation by the viewer. Pieces vary in scale and colour of body as I use crank, terra cotta and Earthstone White Original 20% grogged depending on size and degree of surface texture required. I paint on my glaze and then sponge back to bring out pattern and detail.
