Leith Community Pottery CIC is a social enterprise which:
1. Produces high quality, reduction-fired stoneware for retail and by commission.
2. Offers 9 and10 week courses, weekend workshops, 1-2-1 tuition and group experiences in pottery & ceramics.
3. Offers free & donation based access to courses and workshops to those living with poor mental health, dementia, social exclusion and isolation.
Income generated through course fees and retail sales is used to subsidise this offer.
Andy Lang, The Potter of Leith, makes mainly wheel thrown ware and specialises in wood ash and copper red glazes.
He was trained in oriental traditions and is committed to reduction firing (cone 10) in a custom built, propane fired kiln.
